Lysmata wurdemanni – Natural Aiptasia Control for Marine Aquariums

The Lysmata wurdemanni is a useful yet attractive shrimp used in many saltwater aquariums for the biological control of Aiptasia (aiptasia). It is peaceful, reef-safe, and also a visual asset to any reef tank.

Characteristics:

• Eats Aiptasia: Supports the control of Aiptasia naturally

• Reefsafe: Compatible with corals and most fish and invertebrates

• Social: Often stays in small groups

• Attractive: Transparent to reddish-brown body with fine, white stripes

• Size: Usually 4–6 cm body length

Keeping conditions:

• Suitable for aquarium volumes of approximately 50 litres or more

• Prefers hiding places between stones or corals

• Peaceful towards conspecifics and other shrimp as long as there is enough space

• Stable water values ​​and a varied diet (e.g. frozen food) are recommended
