ATI® ICP Laboratory Analyses
The basis for every successful saltwater aquarium is correctly adjusted, natural water values. A water composition that deviates from this is the most common cause of a variety of problems in the aquarium, such as algae growth or coral death.
At the same time, correctly measuring water values poses a great challenge. The highly precise, professional ATI® laboratory analyses offer you the advantage that the main water values (e.g. calcium, magnesium, salinity, etc.) can be determined significantly more precisely and reliably than with commercially available drop tests. Furthermore, you get a comprehensive overview of a variety of other relevant elements that can only be determined with professional laboratory analysis.
For this purpose, the ATI® laboratory uses a variety of highly specialized analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, ion chromatographs and titrators. Depending on the element, the most suitable measurement method is used.

At ATI®, you can choose from three types of laboratory analyses with different measurement scopes: Standard, Pro, and Ultimate MS.
ATI® Laboratory Analysis Pro
In addition to all components of the Standard laboratory analysis, the ATI® Laboratory Analysis Pro also determines nitrate, fluoride, and carbonate hardness. An analysis of your osmosis water is also carried out via ICP-OES. With the Pro laboratory analysis, you thus receive a comprehensive measurement in which all important parameters are determined with high accuracy.
The following values are measured:
- Salinity
- Bulk elements: Sodium, Calcium, Chloride, Magnesium, Sulfur, Potassium, Bromine, Strontium, Boron
- Trace elements: Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Chromium, Cobalt, Iron, Iodine, Copper, Lithium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel, Selenium, Silver, Silicon, Vanadium, Zinc, Tin
- Pollutants: Aluminum, Antimony, Bismuth, Cadmium, Lanthanum, Thallium, Titanium, Tungsten, Mercury
- Phosphate/Phosphorus
- Nitrate and Fluoride
- Carbonate hardness (Alkalinity)
- Analysis of osmosis water

How to perform an ATI® laboratory analysis:
- Register at lab.atiaquaristik.com, create an aquarium profile and scan the QR code to activate the laboratory analysis.
- Fill sample tubes with aquarium water (and osmosis water if applicable).
- Affix barcodes and send to the specified return address.
- You will receive status updates and results by email.
