Why adult food?

Depending on the breed, a cat is fully grown at 9–12 months. Smaller breeds generally reach adulthood earlier than larger ones. Their nutritional and activity requirements change as they mature. Their diet doesn't need to be as high in calories as it would be for a kitten. Depending on whether the cat is an outdoor cat or an indoor cat, adequate activity should be provided to keep the cat mentally and physically fit.
